Our Food, Our FreedomThis Black August, as part of Black Philanthropy Month, OurSpace stepped outside its comfort zone and hosted a virtual "Our Food, Our Freedom" community giving circle on August 28th. It was our second year participating in #Give828, and we are grateful to the generous donations we received during and after the live event -- totalling $1,540! We came in 23rd place on the leaderboard this year after receiving only 1 $10 donation during last year's #Give828. The community grounding, the farmer journey, the storytelling circle, the visualization/meditation all moved us to be inspired, to laugh, to cry, and to keep pouring into the work that helps support Black farmers.
