​Applications for the next Sowing Success cohort will be coming soon! 


You would be a great fit if you are : 
  • A beginning / emerging Black/Brown farmers, growers, and food producers who are cooperative-minded and engage in sustainable practices to enhance their local food systems. Note: this pilot is reserved for farmers/food producers in the OurSpace World network and those connected to Calabash Core Team members
  • Able to dedicate a minimum of 4-6 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months to engage with the Calabash team (including trainees), gather documents, attend 1:1 meetings, and provide feedback on ongoing TA work. 
  • Willing to provide feedback (to assess client experience throughout the program) 
Potential TA Offerings:
  • State / federal entity registrations 
  • Grant identification (federal and non-federal)
  • Assessment of project- / grant-readiness 
  • Assistance to apply for USDA programs/services that are a good fit (including obtaining a farm number)
  • Partnership exploration
  • Project / strategic / business planning
  • Marketing / branding / communications 
 ​Time Commitment: 
  • Minimum 4-6 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months ( spring 2025)

Sowing Success TA Program  


​The Calabash Network is piloting its first client cohort to receive select technical assistance services to coincide with our pilot TA Academy training program. From September 23rd to October 21st, we are opening up the first round of our TA intake process to Black and Brown farmers, growers, and food producers seeking technical assistance to level-up their work. This program is offered at no financial cost. 
​​Selection Process: 
  • Step 1: Potential Calabash client completes intake form (in writing or via interview)
  • Step 2: Calabash team creates client profile and proposed TA workplan to share with potential Calabash client. Calabash determines whether potential client is a good fit for pilot client cohort 
  • Step 3: Potential Calabash client reviews TA workplan 
  • Step 4: if all parties agree, initial TA contract and scope of work is drafted for review and signature
  • Step 5: TA work begins
