What is the eTeach22 Mirror Resources Library? The eTeach22 Mirror Resources Library is an online, public repository of multimedia resources representative of Black/African and people of color, centered around agriculture, farming, food, health, environmental health, and environmental justice. Learn more about mirror resources.
Why and how was this created? This repository was created to provide a foundation for education and outreach among Black farms, public libraries, and Black and youth and their families, as part of OurSpace's Project Teach22, which collectively educates and trains folks about small-scale, regenerative farming practices and ecological building skills. The eTeach22 Mirror Resources Library was made possible by funding from the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) for OurSpace’s “Mirror Resources for Health, Food, and Environment: an Online Library for Black Youth and Families” project. NNML resources such as Medline, MedlinePlus, and PubMed were used to identify salient health topics in the Black community, which informed the titles included in the eTeach22 Mirror Resources Library. This project was done in collaboration with Misty Trunnell and Joi Howard.
Coming in 2023...Pick-Up (or Drop-Off) Books at On-Farm Little Free Libraries!
Physical copies of some of the eTeach 22 Mirror Resources titles will be found at a Little Free Libraries hosted by a number of our black-operated farm partners in Maryland and Virginia. Once installed, we will feature a map of the farm locations on this page so you can plan to visit one (or all!) of the locations to take advantage of these free, quality, and culturally-relevant health resources! |
